Projects are the heart of what The SmartCoast for Innovators and Entrepreneurs is all about. We are just beginning the journey to make the north Florida gulf coast The SmartCoast. Below you can find some information on our initial projects.

We use Trello for task management and provide links to the Trello Boards below. Note, most projects can be publicly viewed but require a team membership to edit while a few projects are restricted to being viewed by team members only due to information security concerns, these may show below in a gray color.

Information and Promotion Project

This project is aimed at increasing the awareness of the importance or entrepreneurship and Innovation to the north Florida Gulf Coast.

We are manning information booths at many of the local events and reaching out for opportunities to speak at community clubs and civic organizations.

US Economic Devlopment Administration FY19 i6 Challenge

Submission Deadline: 11:59pm Eastern Time on Thursday, April 4, 2019.

FY19 i6 Challenge—catalyzing high-growth entrepreneurship throughout the country, the i6 Challenge awards up to $750,000 for projects that increase regional capacity to accelerate the translation of innovations, ideas, intellectual property, and research into products, services, companies, and jobs.

Hold a Smart Cities Conference by

This project will be to organize an educational conference on smart cities thinking, projects and processes. The conference will have regional and nationally recognized speakers and a hand-on experiential lab so people can experience smart home, smart office and smart city technologies and devices. There will also be a vendor gallery.

Create a Gulf Coast Opportunity Fund

Work has begun on creating a Gulf Coast Opportunity Fund to provide funding to invest in the Opportunity Zones along the Florida Gulf Coast. For more information visit the Smartcoast Opporunty Fund page.
